The Rolled Back ‘Escape From Tarkov’ Patch Returns Tomorrow With Fixes

A new Escape From Tarkov patch is due to launch tomorrow, February 26, and will include a lot of the changes that were rolled back just a few weeks ago.

Patch 14.1.1 will be installed at 7:00 AM GMT/2:00 AM EST tomorrow, February 26, with servers expected to be down for around four hours while this takes place. While we do not have official patch notes just yet, with these expected to be released as the patch goes live, we do know some of what the patch will include, as it has already been added and removed from the game once before.

Earlier this month Escape From Tarkov patch 14.1 launched in a disastrous state, introducing new bugs, performance drops and recoil changes that were hated by almost everyone. After an incredible month or so of the new wipe, it was a major crash down to earth with a patch that seemed to make everything it tried to do worse. The patch was rolled back soon after launching, with developers Battlestate Games promising to fix the issues before it returned.

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, one of the bigger but surprisingly less controversial changes in the 14.1 patch launched on its own. Microtransactions were added to Tarkov for the first time, with players being able to buy access to offline co-op raids for around $10.

Now it seems that many of the other features from the disappointing 14.1 patch will be returning in the 14.1.1 patch tomorrow, with the official Escape From Tarkov X account confirming that it will contain improved changes from the rolled back patch.

Obviously, the big improvements that needed to be made were to performance and bugs that were reintroduced with the patch. However, it will be interesting to see if any of the disliked but not totally broken changes are changed at all. Many players had issues with the recoil changes to pistols and shotguns in the patch, and questioned why these were made at all given most weapons seemed to be in a good place.

Given the typical patch schedule for Tarkov, it is very likely that this patch will just be the adjusted changes that we originally saw in 14.1, with perhaps one or two extras, so if you are expecting new content or major overhauls you may be disappointed. But if you are starting to get tired of this wipe, you can check out Escape From Tarkov Arena, which is due to launch in the next few days.
