It’s the last Monday of May. By this time next week we’ll be in June, the very best month of the year—though I have to admit, this has been a lovely May.
I spent an ungodly amount of time this past weekend playing around with AI music generation, so if you’re at all curious what I came up with, check out my Udio playlist right here. Some of these are ridiculous; others are frighteningly good. I’m not sure how we survive the coming robot wars.

I opened with MUSIC for obvious reasons. It was . . . fine. 100 words left, right on the dot. SHARE slashed that to just three, but I still took two more guesses to get to the Wordle: SIREN stripped all the words but one away. SKIER for the win!

How To Play Competitive Wordle
Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.
If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day.
Today’s Wordle Etymology
The word “skier” originates from the Scandinavian word “ski.” The term “ski” itself comes from the Old Norse word “skíð,” which means a split piece of wood or a stick of wood. The transition from “skíð” to “ski” reflects the evolution of the word through various Scandinavian languages. The suffix “-er” in English is a common way to form agent nouns, indicating a person who performs an action. Therefore, “skier” means “one who skis.”
