A flood of AI-generated apps with no users and no revenue is straining Apple’s review infrastructure, stretching wait times from hours to weeks — while Apple simultaneously cracks down on the tools driving the surge, introduces AI transparency requirements across its music platform, and quietly collects nearly $1 billion a year from the same AI ecosystem it has yet to meaningfully enter.
