Streaming platform Kick has signed a deal with 31 top Old School RuneScape streamers to bring them to the platform in a non-exclusive deal that is being touted as the biggest investment in the OSRS content creator community ever.
The deal, which was negotiated by the Crusader Talent agency that represents many of the top Old School RuneScape creators, sees Kick bring 31 streamers to the platform, in a non-exclusive deal that still allows them to stream elsewhere. This has been a common tactic for Kick, reaching non-exclusive deals with many top streamers in recent months.
While no financial details were revealed, Crusader Talent has referred to the deal as “the largest known capital investment into the OSRS content creator community by any brand or platform to date.” It comes just weeks after the developer of OSRS, Jagex, was acquired by CVC Capital Partners and Haveli Investments for £900 million

The full list of creators involved in the deal includes; SkillSpecs, TastyLife, Coxie, 9Rain, Rhys, Eliop14, EVScape, Jessy, ZoePancakes, Prison Joe, Katerena, Elisa, Westham, Colonello, Theoatrix, Pip, Happery, Pan1c, He Box Jonge, Verf, UIM Loki, PoisonedPotion, DitterBitter, Ron Plays Games, Abyss, Stew, Gunschilli, Fuse, Tellacon, 25Buttholes and Zayzed.

“All we care about is making the best content we can,” added 9Rain, another OSRS creator. “Everything else we do as creators is secondary to that. I think OSRS and Kick are a great fit. We’re excited to join a platform that cares about this weird little point and click MMO.”
Despite allowing many streamers it has deals with to also stream elsewhere, Kick continues to rise as a major player in the streaming space and continues to bring top talent to the platform. However, Kick is rapidly approaching the window where it needs to start making money, something Twitch is still struggling to do. Continuing to bring on top talent in smaller games like this, is surely a good way to get more people onto the platform, but converting them to revenue-driving users will not be easy.
