Not to be outdone by Samsung’s new $251 off the Galaxy S25 Ultra promotion, or Google’s current Pixel 9 deal, Apple’s iPhone 16 has again been discounted on Amazon.
The price of the entire iPhone 16 lineup has dropped, alongside select iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 models. For the base iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Max, this Amazon U.K. sale goes further than previous promotions by knocking £70 ($88.29) off the headline price. Previous deals have maxed out at a £50 ($63.06) discount.
- Apple iPhone 16 (black) £70 ($88.29) off, down to £739 ($931.79)
- Apple iPhone 16 Plus (any color) £50 ($63.06) off, down to £849 ($932.09)
- Apple iPhone 16 Pro (any color) £50 ($63.06) off, down to £949
- Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max (black, desert, natural) £70 ($88.29) off, down to £1,129
- Apple iPhone 15 (any color) £60 ($75.68) off, down to £639 ($805.96)
- Apple iPhone 14 (any color) £100 (126.13) off, down to £499 ($629.38)
The iPhone 16 joins the price war
We’re getting into the thick of the price war between the major manufacturers. This is one of the best times to buy the current crop of flagship handsets (although, I think older models are better value for money). All major smartphones from Google, Samsung and Apple are currently discounted.
Google, for example, is running a major sale for its Pixel 9 range right now. The Search company has knocked between $134 and $310 off the Pixel 9 range, with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a also discounted.
Samsung, too, is running a trade-in deal that pays £200 ($251) for “any smartphone” in “any condition” when buying the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Korean company confirmed to me that it will honor that price if you send in, for example, a working Google Pixel 1. This includes enhanced trade-in prices for U.S. buyers and a $300 credit off the flagship. The Galaxy Z Fold 6, too, has been discounted by $300.
Neither Google nor Apple can quite match Samsung’s high trade-in prices, though. The savviest shoppers should read this story about taking advantage of high trade-in prices by picking up old phones for cheap on the secondary market.
