Best Way To Use AI As A Business Owner Or If You Have A Side Business

Yes, artificial intelligence is everywhere! We can’t seem to turn on the TV, look at social media, or even read an article without mentioning AI. The reality is that some give a sci-fi depiction of AI. In contrast, others are more riddled with research. However, there are applications that we can apply to everyday life whether you’re a business owner, entrepreneur, or someone who runs a side business and has limited time but still wants to stay ahead of the curve.

Here are 5 common business tasks that can be accelerated with AI:

1. Do you struggle to complete tasks because your calendar is a mess?

  • You can use AI tools like Motion to optimize your calendar, schedule tasks within your calendar, and it helps you prioritize what needs to be done when it needs to be done based on your inputs. It blocks your calendar in 15, 30, 45, and 60-minute increments based on the duration you set and how long it will take you to complete the task.

2. Do you spend a lot of time training staff or need to find time to train them but often fall short?

  • You can use AI solutions like Chatbase. Chatbase helps you create a business chatbot based on internal protocols and processes. It offers your staff the ability to ask useful and common questions about PTO, protocol for safety measures, and how to make a chai latte without constantly sending you an email!

3. Do you have to do a ton of research for your industry but always fall behind reading?

  • You can use an AI tool called Shortform. It’s a free Chrome extension that you can download that summarizes your pdf’s and web articles in seconds, giving you a detailed synopsis of your article. In my case, I use it to help me decide if it’s worth the extended read.

4. Want to find talent and instill a simple hiring process that gives you time and bandwidth back?

  • You can use an AI tool called Gohire. It can help you research, discovery and hire candidates, while also creating a workflow process for onboarding.

5. Do you tend to write the same emails over and over again to prospects, interns, staff, or solicitors?

  • You can use an AI tool called Magical. It’s another Chrome extension that allows you to create replies back in a templated way that’s also personalized. For example, it’ll input the name of the person you’re sending the email too and close with your name and signature.

There are nearly thousands of AI tools available for your use. A simple google search for what you’re trying to do will provide dozens of results. The key is to:

  1. Pick a few that have a user interface that you feel you can work with.
  2. Subscribe to the free trial (they often come in 7 and 14 day trials)
  3. Begin experimenting. It’ll feel strange at first, clunky at best, but over the course of a few days you’ll start getting the hang of it. About 70% of the AI hurdle is just getting over you’re own inertia and just starting.
