Project Odyssey, Civitai’s cinematic AI competition, just concluded its submission phase. Categories are 3D animation, music video, narrative, experimental art, and behind-the-scenes. Pigeon Shrine, a New AI Movie Company, Out of Stealth With Finished Feature Film, “Where the Robots Go.” The first full-length AI-generated film made by a single studio. Founded by director Tom Paton (Black Site, Redwood, and 400 Bullets), Pigeon Shrine has secured $2 M in funding from investors, including Empire Studios and entrepreneur Steve Mosley, enabling the production of two feature films and the development of an advanced AI content production pipeline. Paton wrote and directed the company’s debut film, an 87-minute narrative about a robot in a new world that was redefined by the last human child. The film utilizes a combination of AI and traditional filmmaking tools, including Midjourney, Runway, and DaVinci Resolve. Real actors provided the voices, enhanced through a technique called VoCap, which modifies voices to fit multiple characters.
“Dream Club” is a trippy short AI video from Jeff Synthesized. An AI filmmaker based in Los Angeles, has been creating AI-integrated projects (AIIP) for the past year. He says he dedicates about 16 hours a day, six days a week, to his craft, combining his expertise in editing, compositing, and color grading with extensive knowledge of AI tools. Jeff utilizes a range of software, including Runway, Midjourney, HaiperAI, Studio D-ID, Suno, Udio, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve, to bring his narrative and conceptual projects to life.
Metapuppet premieres his AI horror short film “Mother.” The Emmy Award-winning editor and award-winning screenwriter, goes by his YouTube handle. “Mother” was brought to life using 22 different AI programs. Initially shot live-action with his wife on a green screen, the scenes were later re-generated using LumaLabs’ Dream Machine, totaling around 998 generations. Key tools included Midjourney and Leonardo for image creation, ElevenLabs for voice modification, and Runway for background removal. Metapuppet’s daughter contributed as the little girl’s voice, animated using D-ID. Metapuppet says he thinks that AI expands access to untold stories, offering new tools to enhance storytelling while reducing costs and speeding up production workflows.
