If you’re a PC gamer you really don’t want to miss today’s free game at the Epic Games Store. This is the final of 17 free giveaways Epic Games is doling out to the gaming community over the holidays—and they’re ending with a bang.
The holiday giveaway event kicked off last month (last year!) with the Destiny 2: Legacy Collection and we’ve seen a lot of variety ever since, from small indies to bigger, AAA releases.
Today’s final game is Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy from Eidos Interactive, which is quite simply one of the best modern superhero games outside of masterpieces like Marvel’s Spider-Man or Arkham Asylum.
The game—like the comics it’s based on and the James Gunn movies—is a ton of fun, with a great cast of characters and a terrific story. You play as Star-Lord along with the rest of the Guardians like Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Mantis, Drax, Adam Warlock and Gamora. Of, and the cosmic dog, Cosmo, of course. You’ll meet a colorful cast of friend and foe along the way.

The game pulled down a very respectable 78/100 on Metacritic and gamers liked it even better, giving it an 8.6/10. On Steam, users gave it a Very Positive overall score.
Even if you’re not into Guardians of the Galaxy, this is an action-packed, story-driven game that you should definitely play. And it’s free until tomorrow, so you have quite literally no excuses (unless, of course, you don’t have a gaming PC—and what’s your excuse for that?)
