Battlestate Games has released another statement following outrage after a new $250 version of Escape From Tarkov was released, this time giving an update on what perks and bonuses owners of other editions will get now they have backtracked on a number of things.
Last week the $250 Unheard Edition of Escape From Tarkov was revealed, with players who brought it getting access to a PvE game mode and a number of other perks. However, players who had previously purchased the $150 Edge of Darkness edition were promised they would get all future DLC for free, but would not be getting the new PvE mode.
After multiple U-turns, an apology and a lot of fan backlash that spread well beyond the Tarkov community, it was finally announced that EoD owners would get access to the PvE mode, and now full details of how that will work, along with what other benefits they will get have been revealed.
In another post on the Tarkov sub-Reddit, game director Nikita Buyanov has announced that EoD owners will start to get access to the PvE mode from tomorrow, with the rollout happening in waves. They will also be getting faster insurance returns, increased trader limits, increased PMC karma, increased charisma skill level, access to a special stimulant craft and an exclusive quest line. There will also be unique in-game items for EoD owners including a dog tag, armband and clothing.
However, there is also a controversial item that will allow players to call in a BTR to them on the map. Some players are already calling for this to be locked into the PvE mode only, as it seems to offer similar advantages to the promised beacon to summon friends the Unheard Edition features.
For anyone who has the Standard, Prepare to Escape of Left Behind editions of Tarkov, you will get an increased stash size and there will be the ability to purchase the PvE game mode separately.
If you already purchased the Unheard Edition at full price you will be getting a $50 coupon to use on Escape From Tarkov purchases, which might not be much use considering you unlocked pretty much everything by buying it in the first place. You will also get access to Escape From Tarkov Arena.
It was also announced that the ping limit for playing PvE would be removed given that any advantage ping would give would be negated by only playing against AI enemies.
