The promised factory map rework in Escape From Tarkov has been shown off to the public for the first time at TwitchCon Europe, with a tournament showing the map off set to take place.
Initially revealed in the recent TarkovTV stream that detailed all the upcoming changes for the August wipe, the rework of the factory map in Escape From Tarkov promised to overhaul one of the oldest and most outdated maps to make it more than just an area you go to for quests or to try and cheese some strategies.
The rework was teased earlier in the week, but now at TwitchCon attendees have got a look at the whole thing, revealing a very different looking map that still retains a lot of the general layout and areas of interest from the original factory map.
Throughout the weekend, a tournament on the new factory map is taking place at the event, with prizes up for grabs for those who perform the best. This means that real players are getting hands on with the rework, so in the coming hours we will hopefully get some detailed opinions on how it plays, given we have only seen non-gameplay screenshots and footage so far.
From what we have seen, the overall style of the factory map has changes considerably, going from an almost completely destroyed building with lots of rubble to a more factory like building with large machines and vats. The layout seems to be similar to what it originally was, with multiple levels and a variety of wide open spaces and tight corridors.
The expected release for the reworked factory map is alongside the next wipe in August, but until then you can expect to get a lot more end of wipe events, such as the recent one that sent keycard prices to the moon.
Elsewhere at TwitchCon Europe, Battlestate Games is also showing off a new game mode for Escape From Tarkov Arena. The mode is being used in a tournament that is being streamed on Twitch, with Twitch Drops included.
How To Get Escape From Tarkov Twitch Drops From TwitchCon Europe
At TwitchCon Europe, Escape From Tarkov is showing off a lot of new additions to both the main game and Arena, with a lot of it being shown on Twitch itself. As with most Tarkov streams, this also includes Twitch Drops, and getting them is incredibly easy.
In order to get Twitch Drops for Escape From Tarkov from TwitchCon Europe, you will need to log into Twitch and watch the official Battlestate Games channel while it is broadcasting from TwitchCon this weekend. If you watch for an hour you will get one drop, with more drops arriving every hour up to six in total, so if you watch six hours of the stream you will unlock them all.
To claim a drop you will need to have linked your Tarkov account with your Twitch account and claim each drop in your Twitch inventory. It will then automatically be sent to your game.
There is no word on what the drops include, but we do know that the items will mainly be for Escape From Tarkov Arena, given that is the main focus of the streams at TwitchCon.
