Jackbox Games is finally, officially kowtowing to terrible, R-rated fan antics. After a decade of players weaponizing its Party Pack titles against one another–most notably Quiplash, Fibbage, Tee K.O., and even modern classics like FixyText–it’s releasing its first-ever adult-themed collection to encourage such behavior.
The Jackbox Naughty Pack is the studio’s first purposeful jump into mature gaming, “offering an intimate collection of three provocative games” that ask players to indulge erotic, smuttier, vulgar desires–rather than assuming these themes will force their way into proceedings via tipsy players, attendees flustered by the timer, or your classic, line-crossing deviants.
Its trailer, which doesn’t outline any of the games included in the compilation, still manages to leave little to the imagination. In it, the studio’s iconic box is presented in a more lively fashion–filled with an unseen, vibrating item that is most likely battery-powered, but moves the package like it’s plugged directly into the mains.
The Jackbox Naughty Pack is a response to “overwhelming demand” from plenty of fan surveys; it aims to fill a hole for those who’ve demanded more risqué experiences from the studio.
Unlike its ten previous releases–including last year’s Jackbox Party Pack 10, arguably the best collection the developer has ever created–Jackbox Naughty Pack includes just three games in the bundle. We can assume at least one of the games is about sex–especially as it’s aiming to satisfy the apparently kinky desires of Carol from Rhode Island.
That said, it’ll be interesting to see if the Jackbox Naughty Pack angles towards other themes the ESRB slaps a “Mature 17+” rating on–ones that “may contain intense violence, blood and gore, […] and/or strong language.” It’s doubtful Jackbox would go the bloody route–unless it were comically excessive and cartoonish–but it wouldn’t be surprising to see an injection of effing and/or jeffing.
In the meantime, Jackbox Games encourages people to watch social channels closely. If it’s anything like past reveals, we can expect games to be individually announced before the Naughty Pack arrives later in 2024. Still, if the company has learned anything from fan polling, it’s that they love to be teased.
