With more companies recalling employees to return to the office, the market for video conferencing equipment is hotting up. Logitech is the latest brand to announce a new tool in its range of video conferencing equipment.
The new Rally Board 65 is an all-in-one portable video conference solution that combines audio and video in a 65-inch touchscreen display. The Rally Board 65 can be rolled around the office on a cart. Alternatively, the device can be wall-mounted or placed on a cadenza in a meeting room. The Rally Board 65 has a suite of AI-powered features including sensors for registering room occupancy as well as the environmental conditions of a meeting room.
“Hybrid workers expect all spaces to be video-enabled and adaptable enough to collaborate on a moment’s notice, whether in an open space, traditional room, collaborative room or learning space,” says Prakash Arunkundrum, Chief Operating Officer and GM of Logitech for Business. “So, we asked ourselves: how can we create a smart, supremely sophisticated conferencing system, while drastically simplifying the setup? The answer is Rally Board 65, a flexible solution that breaks the pattern of tech complexity that overwhelms companies.”
This all-in-one video conferencing solution can be operational within minutes using Android, PC or BYOD mode using software like Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meet. The Rally Board 65 can be moved around an office space on a cart and can even flip through 180 degrees so the camera can be positioned above or below the screen.
A 4K webcam is built into the Rally Board 65 powered by RightSight 2 and RightSound 2. These two technologies can ensure individual speakers are both seen and heard during meetings. A variable Camera Zone function can define limits to visual framing while a Mic Zone can be set to minimize sound pickup within a designated area.
A new Depth Blur technique can obscure surroundings, producing an effect to background blur people. Rally Board 65 uses 3D spatial mapping technology to help it focus on the action in the meeting while eliminating or reducing background distractions.
Sensors built into the Rally Board 65 can detect the presence of people so that IT teams can gauge accurate readings of how and when employees are using video spaces. The sensors can also analyze environmental data like humidity, temperature and CO2 levels to check that a room is in a healthy condition. The system can also assign an energy score to a room along with recommendations for when to increase ventilation, take breaks or reduce the number of seats in a room to improve air quality.
Insights from the Rally Board 65 can be fed into Logitech’s Sync software, a centralized platform for IT teams that gives an overall view of an organization’s meeting room use with a drill down for details on specific room performance. The system can also automatically book and release meeting rooms.
As a corporation, Logitech is keen on the sustainability and environmental impact of its products. The Rally Board 65 has been designed and engineered to minimize its environmental impact. Up to 41% of the product is made using next-life plastics, low-carbon aluminum and recycled fabrics. The system ships in FSC-certified packaging.
Logitech claims the environmental benefits of the Rally Board 65 go beyond physical design. The radar system in Rally Board 65 enables it to automatically switch to a lower power state when no one is in the meeting space, a function that can significantly reduce power consumption across a company’s offices.
