Mobile’ And Actually Looks Good

Mobile’ And Actually Looks Good

Following the weird Gundam cosplay setup in the regular Call of Duty, the Mobile version has seemingly gotten it right in a new update.

In that, instead of trying to turn people into mecha, they have just put the mecha in the game as is.

The list of mobile suits is as follows: Freedom Gundam, Deathscythe Gundam (Endless Waltz), and both the Nu Gundam and the Sazabi.

While the trailer (shown below) and official site call the Sazabi a “Gundam”, that seems to be more of a banana peel slip-up, and as irritating as it may be, it is a minor issue.

Especially when the good news is that the modeling for each of the mobile suits looks great and is properly Chinese with it. Just like the Metal Build toys, which I am entirely onboard with.

This is because Call of Duty: Mobile is developed by TiMi Studio Group, which is a subsidiary of Tencent and is subsequently based in China.

As with all Call of Duty: Mobile updates, you also get some special guns for each of the mobile suits included, and those designs also look great.

In any case, I am just glad someone is doing a Gundam gaming collaboration properly and actually showing respect to the original designs.

Call of Duty: Mobile is available to play on iOS and Android devices and has game pad support.

If you’re curious about the Season 6 update for Call of Duty: Mobile, then there is an extensive breakdown of what will be available over on the official site.

Disclosure: While I worked on the Ashura Reaper design with Shoji Kawamori in Call of Duty: Mobile, I have no involvement with this new Gundam update.

Follow me on X, Facebook and YouTube. I also manage Mecha Damashii and am currently featured in the Giant Robots exhibition currently touring Japan.
