Sennheiser’s New RS275 TV Wireless Headphones Are Made For Night Owls Or Hearing Issues

Sennheiser has unveiled the RS 275 TV wireless headphones bundle that lets you enjoy movies, shows and sports on the TV in peace and without disturbing others. With easy controls, a range of connectivity options and on-demand customization, the headphones are designed to let you watch and listen to the TV, even if your partner is asleep.

The new package includes Sennheiser’s ultralight HDR 275 TV wireless headphones and the compact BTA1 digital transmitter hub. With support for Auracast and LC3 Bluetooth codec, the bundle provides ultra-low latency audio that’s perfectly synchronized audio at a range of up to 50 meters.

The HDR 275 headphones can connect with other Auracast or Bluetooth Classic devices such as tablets and smartphones, enabling audio to be streamed from a favorite app. The system also lets you listen to the TV while you are moving around the home. The system offers a choice of audio inputs, has intelligent multi-source switching and multipoint capability for connecting with two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

“As screens continue to get thinner, their speakers have to follow, making it harder than ever to enjoy full-range sound without disturbing others.” says Irene Strueber, senior product manager, “The RS 275 TV Headphones unlock total listening privacy and impressive clarity, whether your TV’s built-in speakers are underwhelming you—or overpowering everyone else.”

Power On Demand

Sennheiser says the RS 275 kit can be up and running in a matter of minutes and the settings can be personalized using the Sennheiser’s free Smart Control Plus app, which is available for Android and iOS devices. The app can be used to tailor features like transparency mode, left-right balance, hearing profiles, device-type audio modes, finding lost headphones and more.

Speaking of clarity, these new headphones have been designed by Sennheiser’s in-house acoustics team and are tuned for vocal intelligibility, while still providing plenty of bass response. The system includes several easy-to-use tools for enhancing dialogue or immersing yourself in surround sound, all without waking any light sleepers or disturbing the neighbors.

The HDR 275 TV headphones are lightweight and have ear cushions that are designed to keep the wearer’s ears cool, thanks to the use of a breathable fabric that also creates a snug fit. Large and textured buttons on the headphones offer tactile control of the volume levels and also function as a power switch and taking incoming calls from a smartphone.

Up To 50 Hours Of Listening

A single charge of the HDR 275 TV’s battery can provide up to 50 hours of listening time. The charge can be topped up using the USB-C port on the transmitter hub or you c could use almost any USB-C charger around the home Both the ear cushions and the rechargeable battery can be easily replaced by the user and the whole kit includes a sturdy metal stand for the headphones.

“It was important to make the setup and user experience simple so customers could get to listening immediately. In addition to the headphones being pre-linked to the transmitter out of the box, everything you need to connect is conveniently color-coded,” addsStrueber. “And for those that want to truly make the audio experience their own, the Smart Control Plus app goes even deeper with intuitive personalization from the smartphone already in their pocket.”

When connected to Sennheiser’s Smart Control Plus app, the headphones can use audio presets or user-defined equalizer settings, bass boost and other audio enhancement tools. You can choose between clarity or warmth, for example, which can then be applied as a preference to the HDR 275’s overall character. There’s even a selectable noise suppression mode that reduces any hiss and static while consolidating the signal to mono, making it ideal for watching old movies like Casablanca.

Built-in Auracast

The BTA1 TV Transmitter can harness Auracast to beam wireless audio to any Auracast-compatible devices around the home like headphones, earbuds, hearing aids and loudspeakers that support the standard. The hub has plenty of inputs and other audio enhancement capabilities.

Buttons on the top of the transmitter unit can be used to manually switch the inputs and sound modes, including virtual surround sound and enhanced speech clarity when using TV or HDMI ARC sources. Additional features can be selected using the smartphone app, such as configuring the auto-input switching and video delay compensation, as well as Auracast settings such as the broadcast name, password protection and hearing-aid modes.

The transmitter hub has optical and 3.5mm inputs for connecting to older TVs, stereo systems, laptops and gaming consoles. However, most people will probably use the hubs HDMI ARC connector for relaying the sound from their TV or A/V receiver.

The BTA1 is powered from a USB Type A port, such as the one on your TV or domestic power charger. Power is passed through to theUSB-C port for charging the headphones. The low-profile design fits on the included headphone stand or it can be placed near the sound source.

Pricing and Availability:

The Sennheiser RS 275 TV Headphones bundle will be available for pre-order from February 3, 2026, with a recommended price of $299.95 / £219.99 / €249.90 via authorized dealers or sennheiser-hearing.com. The BTA1 TV Transmitter will also be available to buy as a standalone product and is priced at $129.95 / £114.99 / €129.90. The system will also be available without a headphone stand as a retail exclusive. All versions will begin shipping from February 17, 2026.
