Sky Reveals Sky Glass Gen 2 And Sky Glass Air TV Black Friday Deals

Black Friday is almost upon us once more – and British subscription broadcaster and, increasingly, home entertainment hardware retailer Sky has taken the wraps off the special deals it will be making available over the Black Friday season. Headlined by startling discounts on its already strong value Sky Glass Gen 2 and Sky Glass Air 4K TVs.

Heading up the best limited-time (from November 6 through to December 4) Sky deals is the option for existing Sky TV customers to get their hands on a Sky Glass Air 4K TV for as little as just an extra £3 a month if they also add Sky Sports, Sky Cinema or half-price Sky Whole Home (£7.50 a month) to their existing channel bundles. Or you can also step up to one of Sky’s more premium Glass Gen 2 TVs, with their brighter, more colourful, more contrast-rich pictures and integrated multi-speaker Dolby Atmos sound systems for as little as £11 a month if you also, again, add one of the qualifying additional channel packages.

Both of Sky’s Glass TV options are available at their discount price without you needing to spend any up-front lump sum, and both TVs are designed, in case you weren’t aware, to receive the entire Sky channel package via streaming, with no requirement for a dish to be installed on your house.

That doesn’t mean subscribers to Sky’s relatively traditional satellite dish-based Sky Q service miss out on the Black Friday deal action, though. Serious AV fans among the Sky Q user base will likely be most taken by the offer of four months of free HD and Ultra HD (4K) with Dolby Atmos subscriptions. Or if you’re more interested in expanding the content available through your Sky Q system, existing Sky Q subscribers can choose to add four free months of either a Netflix Standard with Ads or Sky Kids subscription to their core package. These Sky Q subscription deals are being offered on a rolling 31 day contract basis, too, so you could cancel them again if you wanted to before any payments are taken out at the end of the free period.

Sky Q customers have the option over the Black Friday promotion period, too, of adding a multi-room receiver to their package for a discounted sum of just £7.50 a month. This only applies if a subscriber doesn’t already have a multiscreen set up.

If you’re a Sky streaming rather than satellite subscriber using a Sky Stream receiver box or Sky Glass TV, you’re entitled to sign up during the Black Friday promotional period for four months of: Free ad skipping; or Ultra HD with Dolby Atmos quality; or a Sky Kids channel package. All again on a 31-day rolling subscription basis, so that you could if you wished cancel your extra service before the four months was up to avoid ever paying for it.

Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers can also take advantage of half-price Sky WholeHome packages for just £7.50 extra a month. Again on a 31-day rolling basis.

If you’re not an existing Sky customer, the broadcaster is offering what it’s calling its lowest ever bundle price over the Black Friday promotion period, where new Sky customers can get Sky Essential TV (which includes a Sky subscription, a Netflix Standard with Ads subscription and a Discovery+ subscription) along with Sky’s Full Fibre 500 broadband package for £35 a month. The Essential TV package includes Sky Atlantic, which is the channel home of most of the big US blockbuster TV series when they’re first aired in the UK.

Although not directly connected with my AV-related Forbes coverage lane, it’s worth mentioning that Sky is offering Black Friday discounts on both its Sky Mobile data costs and handset upgrade prices, as well as reductions of a couple of pounds a month to its various broadband packages.

To explore and access the TV-related deals, you need to visit Sky’s TV website, while the bundle offers can be found on this link, the Sky Mobile offers can be found on this link, and the broadband deals can be found here.

Finally, Sky has decided to let regular Sky subscribers enjoy a variety of rewards and experiences as part of its Black Friday promotion offers that would normally only be available to its ‘VIP’ subscribers. These include the following:

  • Enjoy a movie on Sky at Christmas – Get Santa, available to download and keep from Sky Store. Available from now until 17th December. T&Cs apply.
  • Nearly a million tasty treats are being given away to enjoy throughout the festive season. Customers can claim new treats every week in the My Sky app. T&Cs apply.
  • Savings on gifts for family and friends with exclusive discounts on a range of top brands such as £15 off Pact Coffee Advent Calendars and £10 off the Christmas Elf Kit from Santa’s Little Spy. Offers are updated monthly. T&Cs apply.
  • Days out over the festive season with thousands of tickets available to Disney on Ice in locations across the UK and Northern Ireland. Enter from now until 5th December, T&Cs apply.
  • Access to numerous festive lights experiences with a huge choice of beautiful locations across the UK and Ireland. Over 25,000 tickets are available. Enter from now until 19th December. T&Cs apply.
  • Sky customers can download the My Sky app and head to the VIP section for more details and to claim their rewards.
