Today’s ‘Wordle’ #1008 Hints, Clues And Answer For Saturday, March 23rd

Looking for Friday’s Wordle hints, clues and answer? You can find them here:

Another Saturday, another dollar. Another day we give thanks and praise to Saturn, the Roman god of harvest and plenty. It’s getting awfully nice around here and I aim to make this a very active weekend. Get the dogs out on the trails. Hit the gym. Yoga it up a bit. Fit all that in with work and family and catching up on, well, everything! Of course, it’ll probably snow again soon. That’s what happens the moment it starts to get nice out!

I’m also writing guides for the new NYT’s puzzle game Strands this week, sharing that game with Paul Tassi and Kris Holt here at Forbes. You can see today’s Strands guide right here. It’s a fun game! I definitely recommend giving it a go!

Alright, let’s Wordle!

How To Solve Today’s Wordle

The Hint: This word might be more appropriate next Sunday.

The Clue: Today’s Wordle begins with a consonant.

Okay, spoilers below!

.

.

Can you solve today’s phrase?

.

The Answer:

Wordle Analysis

Every day I check Wordle Bot to see how I did. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here.

I used crate because it’s pretty close to crane, which Wordle Bot says is all the rage these days. It did . . . okay. 170 words remaining. I guessed weird, because we can’t let weird die, man! Keep the weird alive! That wasn’t so great, either, leaving me with 28 words—and every one I could think of had an ‘I’ in the second box and an ‘E’ in the fourth. Liner, liver, finer, etc.

Well, yesterday I had my hot tub lid and riser replaced, so I thought maybe it was meant to be and guessed riser. So close! Just one digit off. The Wordle has risen, huzzah!

Competitive Wordle Score

I lose 1 point because the Bot guessed in three and get none for guessing in four. Alas!

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word ‘decay’ comes from the Middle English decaye, which in turn is derived from the Old French decair. The Old French term originated from the Vulgar Latin decadere, meaning “to fall off, to fall down”. Decadere itself is a compound of de- (“down”) and cadere (“to fall”). Thus, the etymology of ‘decay’ reflects a process of falling or declining, which aligns with its current meanings related to the natural process of degradation or the decline in condition, quality, or strength.

And that’s all, folks. Be sure to check out my blog for my daily Wordle guides as well as all my other writing about TV shows, streaming guides, movie reviews, video game coverage and much more. Thanks for stopping by!
