It’s Wordle Wednesday and I am tired. Sometimes I am afflicted with bouts of insomnia. This is one of those times. I’m not sure why it happens. Hopefully it won’t result in a Fight Club scenario. In any case, as with every other Wordle Wednesday, I have an extra riddle for you to solve before we tackle the Wordle. Here it is:

DREAM was a solid opener, leaving me with 82 remaining solutions. HOIST slashed that down to 6 and gave me one green box. I had no idea only six words remained, of course, but I went with COMFY since it eliminated a few other words and presto! voila! that was the Wordle! Huzzah!

Well I struck gold today. I get 1 point for guessing in three and another for beating the Bot. The Bot loses 1 point for guessing in five and another for losing to me. This means our June totals are now:
Erik: 17 points
Wordle Bot: 10 points
How To Play Competitive Wordle
- Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.
- If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day.
- Fridays are 2XP, meaning you double your points—positive or negative.
- You can keep a running tally or just play day-by-day. Enjoy!
Today’s Wordle Etymology
The word “comfy” is a casual, shortened form of “comfortable.” It originated in British English in the late 1800s as a colloquial or childlike variant—formed by clipping and adding the diminutive -y (like in “bunny” or “tummy”).
