Ultimate Ears, the audio brand of Logitech has announced an addition to the brand’s lineup of Bluetooth speakers. The new MINIROLL is the most portable speaker in the Ultimate Ears range. The new speaker has a silicone strap for quick and secure attachment to the handlebars of a bike, the strap of a bag or even a belt loop.
With its compact size and low weight, the MINIROLL is designed to go anywhere whatever you are doing, be that running, cycling, tree climbing or hiking. Ultimate Ears released its first speaker, the UE ROLL, in 2015 and it quickly became a popular choice because of its flat shape and handy strap. T
The new MINIROLL is small and a perfect size for sitting in the hand. It has an updated strap design. Weighing just 279 g, the new speaker is very light and portable, making it ideal for traveling.
With its IP67 waterproof rating, you can even take a shower with the new MINIROL, although it won’t float so if you do go swimming with it, strap it to your wrist. The MINIROLL is also dustproof and drop-resistant, which means it’s tough enough for taking on a hike or hitching to a mountain bike on a trail exploration.
Equipped with a custom driver, bass radiators and extensive EQ, Ultimate Ears’ MINIROLL delivers a bigger and more powerful sound than its size would suggest. The speaker also incorporates the new Auracast technology that is part of the new Bluetooth standard. This means it can transmit its audio to an unlimited number of other MINIROLL speakers for a bigger sound experience.
The MINIROLL doesn’t receive open Auracast transmissions and Ultimate Ears has reserved the technology just for pairing with other MINIROLLs. With a Bluetooth range of up to 40 meters, you don’t need to sit next to the speaker to ensure Bluetooth works properly.
The MINIROLL’s rechargeable battery can provide up to 12 hours of playing time on a single charge. When the battery runs down, just plug in a USB-C cable and it will start charging again. There is even a “wet charging” warning should you try to recharge the MINIROLL when its charging port is damp or wet.
Covered in 100% post-consumer recycled polyester fabric, the shell of the MINIROLL is made from at least 40% post-consumer recycled plastic, giving a second life to end-of-use plastic from consumer electronics. Even the speaker’s packaging is made from paper from FSC-certified forests and other controlled sources.
