It’s tradition that The White Lotus has a eclectic, talented ensemble cast for its resort-bound adventures, but the longer it goes, the more it seems to be attracting higher and higher profile actors. That’s certainly true this time around, as Variety has now unveiled a host of cast members that are heading to the show for season 3, which is set to premiere some time in 2025, given the strike delays that have pushed it back.
The new resort will be in Thailand, which we knew previously, and features at least one returning cast member, season 1’s Belinda, played by Natasha Rothwell, the resort worker who wasn’t able to secure funding for her own venture from the scatterbrained (and now dead) Jennifer Coolidge.
The new cast members are:
Parker Posey
Leslie Bibb
Jason Isaacs
Michelle Monaghan
Dom Hetrakul and Tayme Thapthimthong will be two Thai actors joining the series as well.
Past this, however, there was an insider that claimed even more people are being added. They did in fact correctly predict many of the above, but their list also included Walton Goggins, Woody Harrelson, Carrie Coon, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Aimee Lou Wood. While it may not be true that all of those pan out, the fact that they did have some of the initial cast members correct like Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey and Michelle Monaghan correct, that lends a lot of credibility to the claim.
Season 3 of the show has a lot to live up to, given that season 1 and season 2 have 20 and 23 Emmy nominations respectively, though with this cast, it feels like it’s probably going to be hard to go wrong, and the show has not lost its showrunner, Mike White, meaning nothing is changing on that front.
We do not know any story details of season 3, though I would guess it may continue the subtle, but over-arching conspiracy involving the recently murdered Jennifer Coolidge (well, sort of murdered) and her scheming husband where there seems to be some larger mystery at play there. Particularly with Belinda returning this season.
But yeah, what a cast, and given how high profile the show has become, it stands to reason that almost anyone they ask would be eager to join up at this point, which is how we keep getting these rosters of all stars. We’ll see what other names are confirmed from the “maybe” list, though we will be waiting at least another year for the show’s debut itself.
