The Bloodline story in the WWE is far from over.
We are seemingly headed toward more civil war at Survivor Series between the new and old regimes, with a sprinkle of Sami Zayn for more seasoning. The Wiseman Paul Heyman has not returned since the savage attack in June that took him off WWE programming.
His return and the potential debut of Hikuleo, the former NJPW star and brother of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, is still lurking as a possibility. Add to that list of intriguing possibilities a layer that could be even more impacting: the arrival of Zilla Fatu. For those who aren’t aware, Zilla is the son of the late Umaga, cousin of the Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Roman Reigns.
Umaga was one of the greatest performers in the Samoan dynasty in WWE/F history, and Zilla has several of his father’s qualities.
Zilla has been blazing a trail in various independent promotions, though he is most often seen performing for Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling. ROW is set to be the first independent organization locked in with WWE’s new ID (Independent Development) initiative.
According to WWE.com:
“WWE ID is designed to provide independent wrestlers a clear pathway to a potential career in WWE. Following the success of WWE’s NIL program, WWE ID has been constructed to support independent wrestling prospects and schools with world-class training, development and mentorship, in turn raising the profile of and strengthening the independent wrestling ecosystem. WWE will provide the most prominent independent wrestling schools in the U.S. with the “WWE ID” official designation, with the goal of guiding new trainees and existing talent at these select institutions with enhanced developmental opportunities. WWE ID will identify the top independent wrestling prospects with an official “WWE ID Prospect” designation and support their developmental journey. WWE ID will give fans the opportunity to follow the paths of these standout prospects on the independent wrestling scene through curated, behind-the-scenes content, as well as highlights and matches showcased across WWE’s social platforms.”
The official WWE ID X account posted this on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Because of Zilla’s connection to ROW, speculation about his involvement immediately emerged. Several posts and speculative videos were released across the WWE universe and in the media outlets that cover WWE.
The most validating event happened when Fatu seemed to hint at having some involvement. He appears to have posted an emoji that suggests there has been a signing on some level.
Fatu also reposted a similar report from Wrestling Observer.
Fatu’s youth, athleticism, and performance flair make him one of the world’s most exciting young professional wrestlers. His connection to the Bloodline is simply a plus.
There are several directions to take Zilla if he does land on WWE’s main roster, but getting him in the ring with his cousin Jacob would be intriguing. The cousins have worked together in the past, and it could be a new direction to explore.
Fans should pay close attention to the happenings with WWE ID. with or without a Zilla inclusion, it could give a window into the next wave of WWE Superstars.
