Yamaha has announced a new pair of personal theater headphones designed to offer a new way of enjoying movies and streaming shows at home. Producing an immersive and cinema-like sound from almost any Bluetooth-enabled device, these wireless headphones use Yamaha’s proprietary Sound Field technology for three-dimensional spatial listening from any source device and content.
These new YH-L500A headphones are suitable for extended binge-watching sessions because they have a gentle clamping pressure. Thanks to newly developed earpads, Yamaha says the headphones fit comfortably without causing fatigue. Weighing just 9.3 ounces or 263g, the headphones also support Bluetooth Multipoint Connectivity, enabling users to connect two devices and easily switch between them.

The YH-L500A have two Sound Field modes: Cinema and Music. The Cinema mode enhances the spatial arrangement of dialogue, sound effects and background music while injecting spatial volume to reproduce the experience of being “at the movies.” The Music mode distinguishes vocals, instruments and ambiance with extra clarity to recreate the atmosphere of being at a live music venue.
Additionally, the YH-L500A headphones offer a range of features, including up to 20 hours of battery life, Google Fast Pair, Qualcomm aptX Adaptive audio codec, voice control, gaming mode for low latency, plus Yamaha’s exclusive Listening Care. A free downloadable app enables the user to control settings and EQ customization on the headphones.
