Announced at Anime Expo, the upcoming fighting action game Bleach Rebirth of Souls looks like it could be actually decent.
The new trailer (shown below) doesn’t give away much in terms of gameplay, but what it does briefly show does look promising.
Mainly because Tamsoft will be handling the game’s development, and they’re known for the Onechanbara series. So they already have a solid history of making decent hack and slash games.
This new Bleach game also looks very nice and the cel shaded art style is pretty much spot on to the anime.
The original Bleach manga by Tite Kubo was released back in 2001, with an anime series following a few years later in 2004. Making this year the 20th anniversary of the anime. We even got a live action movie in 2018.
The Bleach franchise is subsequently a pretty big deal and has a massive global fanbase, with over 130 million copies of the manga circulating worldwide as of 2022.
There is also a new anime series underway covering the final story arc of the manga, that of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, which started in 2022.
So it makes a lot of sense that we are now getting a new Bleach game, and one from a developer that has solid experience with sword related action games.
No word of a specific release date as yet for Bleach Rebirth of Souls, but it will be coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
