Google released its latest smartphone, the Pixel 9a, in April 2025. It was already the most affordable smartphone in the range, but Google has just announced a new price, $100 off, but only for the next two weeks.
The Pixel 9a went on sale for $499 for the model with 128GB storage. It comes in four colors, peony, which is a blazing-bright pink color, iris (a sort of purple), plus two quieter shades, porcelain and obsidian (off-white and black).
It came with an evolved design: the raised camera bar of the Pixel 9 series has been replaced by a pair of lenses that barely protrude at all.
It has Google’s Gemini AI baked in, a battery that the company claims lasts all day and seven years of updates. 13-megaixel front-facing camera. There’s a 13-megapixel front-facing camera and two rear cameras, one with 48 megapixel resolution, and an ultra wide with a 13-megapixel sensor.
At $499, it is priced at $300 less than the regular Pixel 9 (which costs $799) and $100 less than the Pixel 8 Pro from 2023.
But right now, it’s cheaper still, with the Pixel 9a with 128GB storage available with $100 off, dropping the price to $399. This price is available direct from Google from its store in the U.S.
This offer is only available for two weeks, that is, until Aug. 17, 2025 at 11.59 Pacific.
You could choose the model with more storage, 256GB, which has also dropped in price and is available for as long as the offer runs for $499 instead of $599. Again, Google has all four colors available at this storage level, too.
This reduced price, which represents 20% off the 128GB model and 17% off the 256GB version, is also available from Amazon, which has all four colors for the smaller storage capacity, and obsidian and iris for the larger-capacity model.
