Team Vitality is marking one of the busiest summers for traditional sports and esports alike–including the Olympic Games in Paris, Euro 2024 in Germany, and the inaugural Esports World Cup (EWC) in Saudi Arabia–by flying its national flag through a new third jersey.
The Vitality Paris Jersey 2024, part of the organization’s Paris Collection and new “Veni, Vidi, Vitality” campaign that celebrates the team’s French origins, was designed in collboration with Danish kit manufacturer Hummel, with which it signed a three-year sportswear deal in 2023.
Team Vitality may have been keen to lean into obvious Olympic themes, but it has avoided a potential run-in with the notoriously copyright-defensive IOC by using the colors of the French flag, with the classic Hummel chevron across the chest. It’s a vast departure from its usual yellow-and-black color scheme, aligning more with France’s national soccer and rugby squad outfits.
Vitality said its design decisions were also underpinned by its upcoming participation in the inaugural Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia next month, and drafted its newest stars, who will be flying to Riyadh this summer, to show off the latest look.
Recent additions Jeon “Jeondding” Sang-hyun, a South Korean Tekken 8 player signed in April, was joined by Indonesian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang roamer Vivi “Vivian” Indrawaty, whose Bigetron Era squad was snapped up in May. The pair were joined by hometown CS2 hero Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 2021 Europe–Sports & Games.
The inclusion of these young athletes may be fitting for another reason. Team Vitality’s most recently created rosters–which also include StarCraft II, Street Fighter 6, and Rennsport talent–may have been partly funded by the EWC’s Club Support Program, as per reports from James Fudge at The Esports Insider.
Team Vitality, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2023 with massive wins at IEM Rio, Gamers8, the BLAST Paris Major, the BLAST Fall Finals, and the BLAST Premier World Final, was named Organization of the Year at the 2023 Esports Awards. Just last month, Team Vitality’s French Rocket League athlete Alexis “zen” Bernier was named part of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 2024, joining Herbaut and Vitality co-founder and chairman Fabien “Neo” Devide on the annual list.
The Vitality Paris Jersey is now available on the team’s website for €79.99 ($87), with a deluxe boxed edition including a scarf, bracelets, and stickers costing €99.99 ($109).
